Karolien and I like the Dutch 'Psalms for Now' project, the good old psalms in today's language and music. It's quite well done. The Australian version is Sons of Korah. This is their cover of psalm 125.

The drummer boy from Sigur Ros' 'Glosoly' clip has been in my banner for the past 2.5 years, but the latest 'Heima' album is also excellent. 'Samkeyti' is pure worship...

Today Iceland decided to officially apply for membership of the European Union. It's not a wholehearted decision and much debated in the nation, but Iceland is forced by its current debt of 200% of the GDP in foreign currency, which is more than the Germans had to carry under the Versailles Treaty. If Iceland joins, it's at least good news for the whales, because the European fishing quota are very strict. More background here.

Uploaded some pictures from Iceland to my Flickr account. The picture below was taken at 00:30 AM. At this time of the year it stays light all night, the sun is just under the horizon for a few hours.

In Reykjavik talking in a cafe with Jeannot and Eric & Katie who pursue a boilerroom (prayer and missions base) here, but are also involved in other types of ministry. They say that due to the financial crisis, that left the nation more or less bankrupt and people depressed, there's a real window of opportunity for the Kingdom.

I'm in Iceland this week for a personal retreat and meeting some people. An amazing country with a new breathtaking landscape after each curve in the road.

Enjoying the sunny Summer weather when you can sit outside on the balcony. Karolien and I took out the chairs, drank wine and played Scrabble.
